Our Head Chef and Great British Menu Finalist Mini Patel and our Sous Chef and Professional Masterchef contender Mark Hadley put their skills and expertise to great use on 12 December by delighting The Pointer ladies with their canapes at a Christmas Charity Drinks Party, all in aid of The Bicester Food Bank.
As part of the Trussell Group’s 400 strong network of Food Banks, Bicester Food Banks aim is to break the cycle of poverty. In 2016 over 1 Million three day emergency food parcels were given out by the group.
A partnership was struck between The Pointer Farm, Butchers and Pub in Brill when owner Fiona Howden had a glut of produce from the farm which was delivered and greatly received by Janet at the Trussell Groups Bicester Food Bank. ‘We’ll be using our venue and talented team every year and throughout the year to support members of the community that need help, the trust is about more than food, it also provides a hub to provide holistic support as well as welfare, housing, job skills and grants’ said Fiona Howden ‘they really do brilliant work and at this time of year when we’re celebrating if we can help others at the same time all the better.’
Our event raised £3000 for Bicester Food Bank and we are continuing to collect food right up until Christmas.
