The Pub

The Pointer is a free house – so we can buy our beer from wherever we want. Naturally, we have started close to home, developing our very own ‘Pointer Pint’ with our friends, the XT brewing company, from down the road in Notley Farm near Thame. We take their brewer’s grains and yeast to feed our Longhorn cattle so it works both ways.

We also support the Vale Brewery; brewed in Brill their beer couldn’t be more local – and it is excellent. Currently we are also serving a Blonde from Rebellion in nearby Marlow and, of course, we wouldn’t miss the chance to offer something from Hook Norton in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.

If you have a particular favourite that you think will fit in, then by all means let us know.

The Pointer isn’t just somewhere where you can get a warm welcome and a great pint – although we’re happy to say that we think we do a good job of this. A pub should be a place where you can eat, so be sure to have a look at our restaurant and sample menus. We have an excellent wine list to match; like our attitude to the food we serve, we want people to be able to enjoy good, interesting wine that best suits the food they are eating. That’s why we’ve kept our mark-ups low on our better wines, so everyone can appreciate them.
