In 2019 we opened four new luxury en-suite bedrooms to add to our existing four. Guests can now spend the night in one of our comfy and characterful rooms above the pub, or ‘over the road’ in our converted 19th century red-brick cottage, which was refurbished in 2017.

Exposed oak beams, kilim fabrics and natural fibres like wicker and sheepskin bring a sense of cosy, rustic style to each of our beautiful rooms. Every bathroom has been designed with relaxation at the top of the agenda: some boast sleek roll-top baths whilst others offer spacious waterfall showers and twin basins. All bathrooms are stocked with Bramley luxury toiletries, made in the British countryside using only natural ingredients.

Whichever room you choose for your next stay, you can expect to find luxury comforts such as:

  • Fluffy bathrobes

  • Hypnos mattresses

  • Bed linen from The White Company

  • Nespresso machine & kettle (with a range of supplies including fresh milk)

  • Flat screen TV

  • Free WiFi

Peek inside your bedside table and you’ll discover a beautiful cloth-bound copy of The Hobbit, in homage to J.R.R Tolkien whose jaunts to Brill from Oxford University inspired his vision of Middle-Earth, and the village of Bree.

A fabulous Pointer breakfast is included with all overnight stays. Choose from a range of hearty cooked options as well as a selection of morning pancakes - all cooked to order - and an extensive Continental buffet which includes freshly-baked pastries, preserves, yoghurt, juices and fruit.

Dogs are welcome to stay in all of our rooms - for a small surcharge we’ll supply a dog bed plus food and water bowls. Travel cots also available on request.

“Our ground-floor room was so chic and cosseting I was tempted to claim squatters’ rights and never go home.”
